Another day, another wedding but in this case it was absolutely NOT like any other wedding. David and Steph are a couple of awesome cats who were literally up for anything. They knew what got our creative juices flowing and they were more than happy to oblige.

They married at Wylam Brewery, a venue we love (we got married there ourselves). It’s always amazing to photograph there, but even though we’ve been there many times before, this one was a little different.

You see, as great as David and Steph are, there are also some things you just can’t plan for.

We did plan to go to the Skate Park. Some couples wouldn’t want to do that but they did. What we didn’t plan for however was a group of awesome skaters and BMX’ers wanting to get involved. The sun was shining, like really shining too. Let’s see where this went…

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because on the wedding day, we headed to the Skate Park for the bridal party and couple portraits.

We began the day on the quayside in Newcastle. Chris was with David and Shazia with Steph and the girls.
While the girls were popping the fizz, a special treat arrived for David. A Ford Mustang to drive him to the venue.
While David was making the most of the drive over, Steph was putting the finishing touches to everything back at the apartment.
It was a beautiful, sunny day over at Wylam. Guests were seated and ready to rock n roll.
It's always a stunning ceremony at Wylam and today was no different.
After a confetti tunnel it was time to head over to the skate park.
When we arrived, the skaters and BMX'ers who were hanging around asked us if they could be part of the photographs. We set some things up and wow did they look amazing!!
Back at Wylam, guests were happily enjoying themselves as they were relaxing and listening to the live entertainment.
It was time for the speeches and boy did it get emotional. We love some tears every now and then and this really was a special moment in the day.
After everyone had eaten, it was time for some more couple portraits, making use of every available prop AND the gorgeous golden hour.
Back inside it was time for some dancing as the newlyweds took to the dance floor.
The night wasn't over though. There was still time for Steph to join the live band on stage and perform a surprise set on the drums for all the guests to enjoy!!
