In the space of two years, what started out as simply one couple booking another couple to photograph their wedding day, has turned into an amazing friendship we could never have dreamed to ask for.

Jayne and Akeem booked us way back in 2019. They were recommended to us by one of our other couples (also turned friends) Josh and Rhiannon. We’d not even photographed Josh and Rhiannon’s wedding yet, but Rhiannon told Jayne that if there was one thing she’d absolutely recommend booking it was us.

Jayne and Akeem’s original wedding date of March 2021 was postponed due to covid, so they pushed their wedding day back to November and decided to elope in the May, then have their bigger wedding day later.

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because this wedding day takes place after their original wedding day back in May.

Chris started off the day with Akeem and the lads. What a beautiful day it was!!
The lads were having a great time relaxing and before they were whisked away in the campervan, Akeem had time to spin a few records.
Over at the Hotel Du Vin, things were a lot more relaxed with Jayne and the girls.
Jayne, looking stunning as ever, opted to wear a beautiful flower crown to match her Maggie Sottero dress.
Over at Wylam, the drinks were out and the lads were in great form before heading inside for the ceremony.
After Jayne made her way over to Wylam with her dad, the ceremony started with Akeem shedding a tear as Jayne walked down the aisle.
Given that they were already married, it was a super relaxed affair, with guests even allowed to hold drink during the ceremony, something that's not traditionally allowed during a legal service.
Love Jo Ceremonies conducted the ceremony, which still had the feel of a wedding ceremony, but without the formal approach. It was lovely.
Outside we fired out a confetti tunnel for our guests to get them warmed up. Confetti never fails to get people excited.
Jayne and Akeem has enough couple portraits to last them a lifetime after their elopement, but we wanted to give them something special at Wylam.
Jayne, who by her own admission used to hate having her photograph taken, we now so comfortable with us that she really enjoyed their alone time together on the day.
Back inside it was speeches time and the vibe was definitely upbeat. Some great stories were told that didn't fail to crack a smile amongst guests.
As the evening reception drew near, some guests were starting to look a little worse for wear, but Jayne and Akeem still had time for some more amazing couple portraits on the stage. We LOVE these dark and moody portraits!
The GIF/photo booth proved very popular with guests and made for some great candid moments for us to capture.
First dance time!! Guests piled onto the dance floor to join the (not so) new Mr and Mrs Bolaji.
It really was the best day and guests were clearly having fun. Things showed no sign of slowing down and the band did such a great job. Guests had such a great time dancing and that's EXACTLY what you want from a wedding day!!
