The details

The happy couple:

Margaret and James

Time of year:

The location:

Eslington Villa, Gateshead

Chris & Shazia

Maggie and Jamie originally met us at a wedding fair. They were on the lookout for an awesome photography duo who they got on well with and who could capture their day in a very fun and relaxed way. We definitely ticked that box.

They were getting married at Holy Cross Church in Ryton followed with a reception at Eslington Villa in Gateshead.

It’s was November 2nd. The leaves had turned an amazing colour and were falling from the trees on this amazing day.

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because the lads decided to have a “best socks competition” for the wedding. One of the groomsmen won. His Batman socks had a cape!

Chris began the days with Jamie and the lads, where they were showing off the results of their sock competition.
While Jamie has his hair done by his groomsmen (who had trained as a barber), the other groomsmen were showing off their cufflinks.
Shazia meanwhile was with the girls.
Maggie looked amazing in her dress. By shear coincidence, as Jamie and Maggie were both leaving, Chris and Shazia took a photograph of them in front of the sheds.
Jamie and the guests were all ready and seated as Maggie and her bridal party made their way into the church.
It was a beautiful ceremony and the vicar was particularly entertaining in his delivery of the service.
Outside, we all made our way to the top of the hill before lining everyone up for a confetti shot.
As the guests made their way to Eslington, we took the opportunity to photography Jamie and Maggie together for the first time. Just look at those leaves!!
Once everyone had made their way to Eslington Villas, we grabbed everyone for a quick group photograph before guests headed inside for some mingling and relaxation.
As guests caught up, we grabbed the newlyweds for some more couple photographs inside the venue.
The light was just perfect as it fell through a nearby window. We just LOVE these images!!
After the meal, the bridal party all headed outside to the smoking shelter for a few group photographs. They all looked so cool, especially our groom who was rocking an awesome hat.
Back inside the party had well and truly started before the newlyweds made their way onto the dancefloor for their first dance.
The new Mr and Mrs led the way before guests joined them to cap off what had been an amazing day.
