31st May 2018

The location:

Lartington Hall, Barnard Castle

Michelle and Sam first met us at the Metro Radio Arena wedding fair in January 2017 and after chatting to them for a considerable period of time, they had no hesitation in booking us for their big day.

They’d picked Lartington Hall for their venue. We’d never photographed there before, but had heard plenty enough things about it that it was on our list of ones we wanted to photograph at.

It was another scorching day and with us going through a heatwave at the time, we headed out, water and cameras in hand, ready to make some memories.

We arrived at Lartington on the morning to capture Michelle and her family getting ready.
Once her dress was on, Michelle's dad came into see her for the first time.
It was a lovely car journey over as Sam waited patiently at the church.
After a confetti tunnel photograph outside the church, we headed back to Lartington and made the most of the open fields and beaming sunshine.
The speeches were thoroughly entertaining, especially Michelle's dad's speech, who by this time had had a few drinks to aid his confidence.
Outside there were a series of lawn games on offer for guests, including the always fun Tin Can Alley.
We snuck our newlyweds off for 10 minutes or so to capture some more couple photographs. These two are so great in front of camera.
Back inside it was time to start the evening festivities with the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
