Deep in the heart of Northumberland sits a lovely little town called Otterburn and in this town, up a long, beautiful lane surrounded by trees and open fields sits a lovely little venue called Woodhill Hall.

The lucky couple on this glorious day was Jurgen and Linzi, who couldn’t have picked a better day to get married. The weather was beaming sunshine and for that reason, it was our first time to photograph a wedding at Woodhill with the ceremony outside on the terrace overlooking Otterburn.

Linzi and Jurgen found us through Facebook and after looking through our portfolio, they absolutely felt that we were the team to capture their big day.

They had many plans for their big day so take a look through their lovely photographs to see how it all unfolded…

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because of the ice cream van that came on the afternoon to serve ice-cream to all the guests.

Chris started with Jurgen and the boys who were quickly getting themselves ready before guests arrived.
Meanwhile Shazia was upstairs with the girls, where things were a little more relaxed as everyone enjoyed being pampered.
After Linzi had some help getting into her dress, her grandad made a grand entrance and we just love his reaction.
Outside the guests were gathering in the Elephant Garden where drinks were flowing as everyone relaxed in the sunshine.
Once guests were seated, it was time for the bridal party to make their way outside.
Linzi and her grandad made their way down the isle to find Jurgen waiting patiently at the bottom.
What a beautiful setting to have a wedding day. Just fantastic!
After they were pronounced husband and wife, it was time for the paperwork to be signed before they exited their ceremony to a rapturous applause.
As guests had some time to mingle and catch up, the couple had arranged for an ice cream van to serve the guests. Considering the heat, it was just what everyone needed.
After spending the afternoon having a great catch up, the time had come for Linzi and Jurgen to make their way in for the wedding breakfast.
The speeches went down a storm and Jurgen and Linzi's boys played a huge part in that.
After the meal it was time for some more couple portraits, making the most of the fantastic weather and some more time together.
We were rolling straight into the evening celebrations. Barrie James had arrived to draw some guest portraits and it was just about time to cut the cake.
We managed to catch some time alone with Linzi for some cool portraits before she headed in for the first dance.
The first dance wasn't the only dance they had in store, as the girls joined Linzi and the dancefloor for a routine for their own.
