We first met Laura and James at a wedding fair at Newcastle Racecourse in early 2018. They had been recommended to come and see us by another photographer who felt we would be more in tune with their style and vibe.

Laura and James lived in Warwickshire so after chatting with us at the wedding fair, they decided to book with us as they felt we’d be a good fit for their day. They were both lovely and laid back, just like ourselves.. and they felt our style would fit in well with their guests.

They’d chosen Wylam Brewery for their big day. We knew the venue well as we had chosen to get married there ourselves, but we were super excited to be photographing there as photographers for the very first time.

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen after a little robin managed to sneak into the ceremony room through an open window and spent the whole ceremony flying around and being very vocal to let us know she was there.

Shazia started the day with Laura and her bridesmaids who were getting ready at a little hotel near central station in Newcastle.
Laura looked incredible in her stunning gown.
As you can see, it was a little bit rainy, but nothing some umbrellas would not solve.
The guests were all seated when Laura arrived and we even had a little visitor during the ceremony that kept flying around the room.
It was such a lovely, laid back ceremony and Laura and James so really make the cutest couple.
After the ceremony we headed outside for some couple portraits with the lovely Land Rover.
Back inside, the party was well underway and guests even had time for a tour of the brewery.
We absolutely love the tap room at Wylam and it gave us chance to capture some really natural images of James and Laura together.
While guests were busy taking their seats, we finished off some more photographs of our newlyweds together. It really is such a fantastic venue. Everywhere is a potential backdrop.
Speeches were next and guests had a great time listening to various stories from our speakers.
Sticking with tradition, James covered a lot of thank yous and had some lovely words to say about his new wife.
The best man was on form to round things off, after which guests headed back out into the reception area for some more drinks.
James and Laura had organised a guitarist for the evening reception and he kept guests thoroughly entertained.
This gave us chance to capture some more images of Laura and James together inside the brewing area.
Shortly after it was time for the cake cut and it was clear to see that everyone loves cake.
Our newlyweds had a beautiful first dance to some live music.
Once the first dance was over, that was the cue for guests to join them on the dance floor and get the party started.
As you can see, everyone was up for a good time and it really shows in the images. What a fantastic way to cap off a perfect day.
