Every now and again, you have a couple come along to book that you have an instant connection with. Josh and Rhiannon came to the studio to book and then we went for food. That set the tone for the next few years.

We met them back in 2017. They’d recently booked Ellingham Hall and were looking for a photographer to capture their day. They are very much like us. Similar sense of humour and very laid back.

They’d had a pre wedding shoot with us (after which we went for food) and they’d also been guests at our own wedding a month earlier, so by the time it came to photographing their day, it really felt like we were photographing a friend’s wedding, which of course we were.

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because of the stag head cushions we borrowed from the venue for the couple photographs.

We began the day at Ellingham Hall. Look how amazing it looks with the red leaves!!
Inside, Josh and Rhiannon were both getting ready. The lads were having a laugh upstairs while the girls were having a nice pamper below.
Rhiannon looked incredible in her dress and you can see she was a little bit excited.
The bridesmaids were all waiting patiently for a first look and Rhiannon didn't disappoint.
The ceremony room was packed. A beautiful ceremony with a brief moment of hilarity when the registrar said the Best Man's name instead of the grooms.
Outside we had everyone promptly lined up for a confetti tunnel.
After this we rolled straight into some group photographs before promptly allowing guests to enjoy their day.
While guest had a little mingle, we took the newlyweds off for some couple photographs to make the most of the amazing autumnal colours.
After some dancing around, we headed back inside.
Guests were having a great time relaxing but it was soon time for the bride and groom to make their entrance into the breakfast room.
The speeches were great and we heard stories about how Josh and Rhiannon first met years earlier.
The best man fired off a few jokes and received a thunderous ovation for a great job well done.
We still had some daylight left, so after the meal we headed out for some more laid back, clowning around couple portraits.
There was more chill time afoot as guests made themselves at home.
Some guests were relaxing with drinks while a card game was taking place in the kitchen.
It was time for the first dance and the newlyweds enjoyed a lovely few minutes alone with all eyes on them.
There was one more trick left up our sleeve and that was to wrap our couple in lights for the final images of the evening.
