The details

The happy couple:

Ian and Madeleine

The date:

13th September 2014

The location:

County Durham

It was so long ago now that we can’t remember exactly how Ian and Madeleine first found us. It was likely at a wedding fair, but what we do remember is the night that we met up for a chat. It’s probably our longest consultation to date. Fours hours we seem to remember.

They were our kind of couple. Really fun and up for anything. They had one simple request. They wanted us to spend the day capturing the day itself, not them, which is why there’s hardly any images of the two of them together.

It was such a relaxing day and our first tipi wedding. A picnic lunch with crusty breads, cheese & chutneys and a hog roast on the evening. Tipi Chic had set up everything perfectly. Furniture for guests to relax. Fire pits for when it got darker. What an amazing day.

It was a lovely relaxing morning as Madeline, her family and bridesmaids took their time getting ready.
The ceremony took place in a beautiful church in West Rainton.
After the ceremony, the guests headed a little further down the A690 towards Durham where their tipi waited in a local scout centre.
After some family photographs, it was time for guests to take their seats for the speeches.
After speeches were over, we headed out for ten minutes or so to capture some couple photographs, including the now famous tipi sofa image.
