Ben and Charlotte planned a wedding day that was a little bit different. They booked an amazing venue by Lake Windermere, but had to organise everything else themselves. While it was a lot of work, it made for a very special, very personalised day.

We first met Charlotte and Ben when they visited our studio for their Newborn photography session. They loved their photographs and enjoyed their experience so much that they felt we’d be perfect to capture the next important milestone in their lives.

We headed over to the venue the night before to meet everyone before checking into a local hotel and heading to the venue once again the following morning. With it being the Lake District, we knew the weather could be unpredictable, but the sun was shining and could wait to get started.

Where the wedding name came from:

The name was chosen because Ben and Charlotte chose to do their first dance in the courtyard, under the festoon lights, surrounded by their friends and family who all ultimately joined them.

With everyone getting ready at the same venue, we arrived, enjoyed some breakfast and then started the day. Super relaxed.
Ben was getting ready with his groomsmen downstairs...
While Shazia was upstairs with Charlotte and the girls.
Charlotte, stunning as ever, made her way downstairs while her guests (and Ben) waited patiently outside.
What a stunning setting!! On the end of a hill, with the house on one side and Lake Windermere on the other.
After the ceremony, it was time for guests to pull their own pints as we took the new Mr and Mrs off for some quick couple portraits before it started to rain.
With the lake only a short walk away, we managed to capture some amazing images within only 10 minutes.
Back at the house, it was time for guests to take their seats for the speeches.
The speeches were hilarious, with some cracking jokes by the best man.
As you can see, everyone was having a great time, especially Ben, who had some flashbacks with the goggles and Beano comic.
After the meal, we drove to a point on the lake where we could capture some more stunning images of the newlyweds together. What an amazing couple!!
Charlotte had requested we do some portraits with some smoke and what colourful shots they were!!
As the evening approached, we suggested that they do their first dance in the courtyard as apposed to inside and we're so happy they said yes.
Guests promptly joined them on the "dancefloor". This made for some incredible images to finished off the evening.
