About Us

Howdy!

We’re very good at what we do, but let’s see if we click. Here’s some more info about us.

Chris

Hey, I’m Chris and I’m definitely the mouth piece of us both. There is a reason why I’ve been nicknamed ‘The Bearded Hero’ which you can read here.

My love is capturing people faces, expressions, joy and everything that comes with it. The fact that weddings are generally filled with lots of happy people having a good time is what makes it fun.

The real payback for me is when our brides and grooms receive their wedding photographs back, or our mums and dads received their newborn images back.

To see them so happy knowing they’ve had amazing images captured forever is why I do this.

Behind the lens

When i’m not working, I love watching movies/tv shows and I love to unwind on the xbox. We adore our cats too (well, any cat for that matter) so a night in with the cats all around us sounds perfect.

We both love our adventures too. We travelled to Sri Lanka, the US as well as doing an amazing trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in 2017.

We both love to ride our motorbikes and combined with our sense of adventure, we’ve done a few trips around mainland Europe and Spain. You can check out our most recent motorcycle trip here.

We’ve also invested in a roof tent for our truck, so that we can further broaden our adventures in the future. You can follow our adventures on our Youtube Channel and at Choc Chip Travels

We’re both big foodies too. Pretty much everything we do in all aspects of our lives revolves around our love of food.

Shazia

I’m Shazia, the quieter, stealthier side of Chocolate Chip Photography. My clients have given me the nickname Blue Ninja because they never see me on their wedding day, in a good way!

I have a keen interest in editorial and portraiture and have been featured in multiple international magazines for my editorial and fashion work.  I draw on those skills on your wedding day to get you those images you want to hang on the wall.

I’ve been shooting weddings for over 10 years now and over the years I’ve come to learn that weddings, for me, are about capturing real moments.  Very minimal posing, nothing forced and nothing staged and real emotion.

Wedding days go by so fast and I don’t want to take you away from enjoying your day with your friends and family for staged photographs under a big tree or next to a lake, I would rather capture you with your guests having fun!

I’m always looking for something different when I’m shooting a wedding, I don’t want my photos to look the same as everyone else’s so I’m always up for trying something new, not just for me but for our couples too!

Behind the lens

When not photographing people, I like to spend my time growing my house plant collection.  (Chris hasn’t noticed just how many we actually have!)

I love to travel and experience different cultures and food, we often base our travel around what kind of food we want to try and build a trip around that.  Anywhere with good cheese and red wine is always a must. This may be cliché at this point but I also LOVE my coffee.

Film has played a big part in my life, I originally went to university to study film and become a director.  That is also where I met Chris and ultimately lead to the birth of Chocolate Chip Photography a year after I graduated with a masters degree in film production.

Despite it being my job, photography is still a hobby for me in my spare time too, I’m always learning new skills and trying out new techniques that I can then transfer over to my wedding work.
