This gives you plenty of time to research potential photographers, view their portfolios and schedule consultations to discuss your needs and preferences.

If you have a specific photographer in mind or are planning a wedding during peak season (usually summer and early autumn), you may want to enquire before you have a date set in stone so you can make sure that they are free to shoot your wedding. Some photographers may be booked a year or more in advance, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
